FAQs About Visiting City Church
  • What should I expect when I visit for the first time?

When you visit City Church, you’ll experience a welcoming, relaxed environment with meaningful worship, practical Bible-based teaching, and people who genuinely care about you.

During the service, we’ll invite first-time guests to fill out a blue connection card. This is how we get to know you, say thank you for being with us, and share next steps like groups, serving opportunities, or prayer if you’d like it. It’s a simple way for us to stay connected and serve you well.

From the moment you arrive, our goal is for you to feel comfortable, encouraged, and confident that you belong here.

Yes. Families are a vital part of City Church. We offer a safe, engaging kids ministry where children learn about Jesus in an age-appropriate and fun environment.

Our kids areas use a secure check-in system, and all leaders are trained and background-checked. While kids are learning and building friendships, parents can fully engage in the service with confidence.

We believe following Jesus changes everything. Our beliefs are rooted in Scripture and shape how we worship, live, and serve our city. You can learn more about what we believe and why it matters by visiting our beliefs page.

  • What should I wear?

There’s no dress code at City Church. Most people dress casually, and you’ll see everything from shorts and t-shirts to dresses and button-downs.

Wear whatever you’re comfortable in; we’re more focused on you than what you’re wearing.

  • How can I get connected beyond Sunday services?

Connection at City Church goes beyond Sundays. You can get involved in connection groups that meet throughout the Greater Savannah area, serve on a team, or grow through Growth Track.

Your first step is to fill out our blue connection card, either in person or digitally. This helps us get to know you and guide you toward the best next step for you.

  • Do I have to be a member or have my life together to attend?

No. You don’t have to be a member, have everything figured out, or even know what you believe to attend.

City Church is a place for real people at every stage of faith. Whether you’re new to church, returning after time away, or simply curious, you are welcome here.

  • Can I talk to a pastor?

If you have any other questions or simply want to talk to a pastor, we’re on the other end of this line and are eager to chat with you.

  • Who is the pastor?

City Church is led by Jim Simpson, who founded the church with a vision to see Savannah transformed by the life of Jesus. You can learn more about our team on our About page.

  • What is the worship experience like?

Our services are contemporary and Spirit-led. Expect modern worship music, a warm atmosphere, and a message that is grounded in Scripture and relevant to everyday life. Nothing too formal, nothing too out there. Most people say it feels like a place they can actually bring a friend.

  • Do you have anything for teenagers or students?

Yes. We have a ministry specifically for middle and high school students where they can build real friendships and grow in their faith in a space designed for them. Youth Group meets every 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Wednesday at 6:30 PM. We would love to have your student join us.

  • Can I watch online if I can't make it in person?
